“Their talents are many. Their time is a godsend. And, if they were an army, they would be a formidable one.”—Carter Smith, Executive Director, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department
Texas Master Naturalists™ bring their unique training and experience to educate the citizens of Texas about its natural resources. TMN members provide hands-on training, lectures, hikes, and other opportunities for people to learn what it takes to protect our natural environment for now and generations to come.
TMN volunteers not only get their feet wet and their hands dirty, but while doing so they spend time in a natural setting, learn about different plant and animal species, and maybe even find something new: one member, in fact, discovered a new plant species. See what these volunteers have to say about the program:
“I enjoy the Texas Master Naturalist program because . . .
. . . of the people, the knowledge and the fantastic sense of satisfaction!” – Donna Cole, North Texas Chapter
. . . it restores my faith in humankind as well as reconnecting me to my natural world.”–Norm McGinnis, Capital Area Chapter
. . . it proves to me over and over that each of us –even me- can make a difference and change our world for the better-especially if we all work together.”-Teresa Lynn, Hill Country Chapter
