Thank You!
We had a great time at our 20th Anniversary Gala this October celebrating our Texas Master Naturalist Program’s 20 year milestone!
This event included a celebration of the Texas Master Naturalist Program’s impacts over the last 20 years, honored those who have made lasting conservation impacts on the land, and started the work to provide a sustainable future for the Program through the Texas Master Naturalist Endowment.
Developed originally with a group of conservation minded individuals from a number of state and local organizations in San Antonio, the Texas Master Naturalist Program credits its 20 year history to this group’s ambition to put more hands on the land in an effort to build natural resource literacy and civic service for the state. Over the course of its 20-year history, the Texas Master Naturalist Program has trained over 11,000 passionate individuals who have engaged in over 4.5 million hours of volunteer service restoring native habitats, creating outreach events, educating the public, building community awareness, conducting research and citizen science efforts and working with state agencies alongside local partnership organizations.
What makes the work of a Master Naturalist so important is that they are not only individuals who love nature and offer their time, but they are also trained naturalists with specialized knowledge of different ecosystems, species, habitats, and environmental demands. This training and skill is priceless when determining how to best manage natural resources.
